Well hello there!
Let me begin by introducing myself and explain to you where I plan to take this lovely blog…
My name is Kendall and I am 24 years young. I am currently working as an Educator at Lululemon and in my free time I love to watch the ID channel (any fellow true crime fans out there?), read, and workout.
In July, I finished up school at West Virginia University and received my M.A. in Communication Theory and Research. You may be asking yourself, “What in the world are you going to do with that degree?” I would love for nothing more than to give you an exact outline of my life plan and what getting that degree will do for me and my future, but unfortunately I have no idea. Getting my M.A. was no easy feat and I am extremely proud of myself for completing it (and in only 10 months, I might add! 🙂 ), but I’m still trying to navigate my life post-grad and figure out where I belong in this crazy world.
I would be happy to dive deeper into my degree and what graduate school is like for anyone interested, but that is for another time and place. As for my current situation, I am a part-time seasonal educator at Lululemon and I absolutely love it. I’ve loved Lululemon’s clothing for quite some time and I never in a million years envisioned myself working for the company, but here I am and I couldn’t be happier! Although there are times when I compare myself to others (which is most definitely the thief of happiness) and assess my job situation to my peers and wonder if I should be doing more, but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Now lets get to the reason we are all here — this blog.
Lately, I have felt down on myself because there are things that I want to be doing but am too afraid for fear of failure and I’ve noticed that when I journal or give myself little one-on-one therapy sessions, I feel better, even if it is temporary. There are often times when I stumble on someone’s Instagram page, blog, or YouTube channel and think to myself, “wow, I really wish that I had the courage to do that..” and there are times when I really talk myself up and believe that I can, but soon enough that fear of failure and humiliation creep in and kick that motivation to the curb.
So long story short, I am writing this blog to work my way up to other goals that I have set for myself. I really do love writing (I mean I am a Master of Communications 😉 ) and I love the outlet that blogging provides for me. I want to use this blog to essentially talk about the things that bring me happiness. For the time being, I am going to try gearing my blog toward topics in the beauty, fitness, and lifestyle realm, but if there is something else that I want to talk about one day, I’m not going to hold back.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read my very first blog post, and I hope that you come back. Because I am just getting started, check back for new posts every Sunday and Wednesday. Once I get the hang of this whole ‘blog thing’ I may switch up the days that I plan to post, but for now plan for Sundays & Wednesdays!
