5 Favorite Foundations

Happy Sunday and welcome back! Because my blog is still in it’s beginning phases, I am going to introduce to you ANOTHER new segment on my blog that I’m calling, “5 Favorites.” You might be thinking, “but Kendall you JUST introduced the Pick Up or Pass segment and you haven’t even done a second one yet, what’s up with that?” And trust me, I know, but I am in the midst of trying out some new skincare products that you would have seen mentioned in my favorite gifts from Christmas post, so check that out if you want a sneak peek of what’s to come ;), but anyway I need to test out products until I can really get my opinion on them because I don’t want you guys and gals going out spending money on something that I rave about one second and then hate the next. So, long story short, be patient with me and more Pick Up or Pass posts will come…

Whew, that was a long intro, and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to tell you all about my 5 favorite foundations! Some of these foundations are drugstore some are high-end, but all of them are AMAZING!

I just want to mention now, I will not be mentioning the Physicians Formula and Tarte foundation because I’ve talked about them before and I value your time and don’t want to waste it. If you are interested in my thoughts on either of those foundations, check out my pick up or pass and holy grail makeup posts!

Okay, now we are ready to get started. These foundations are in no specific order, but first up we have…

It Cosmetics CC Cream

$38 @ ulta

This foundation is so good, you guys. I used to use it all the time especially when I was a little tanner because their shade “light” was a little dark for me. The coverage is awesome for a CC cream and it has 50 SPF, which you might not think is a big deal but I think that is awesome. I am super fair, so come summer time I am practically bathing in suntan lotion, so if I can get a foundation that has it included I’m all about it! If you haven’t tried this out, I highly suggest you do!

Maybelline Matte and Poreless

$7.99 @ ulta

I may have mentioned this foundation before, but if I haven’t yet I definitely should have. This foundation is amazing! It’s affordable, has awesome coverage, and has so many shades to choose from! They also have a dewy and smooth foundation with the same packaging that is ideal for dry skin types. Although my skin is combination, I can get away with wearing the matte kind because it isn’t too drying like some matte foundations can be and it keeps me matte in my T-zone, which is where I get the most oily.

Bare Minerals Original Powder Foundation

$29 @ ulta

So I am not a big powder foundation wearer, but when I do I wear Bare Minerals. I remember when this came out and it was all the rage. This was something I wore back in high school and I recently purchased it again and still find it awesome. I just tend to reach for my liquid foundations more because I like applying that better, but this foundation melts into the skin after you buff it on and it literally gets better looking as the day goes on, which can sometimes be the opposite for liquid foundation. This is good for people who like to wear minimal makeup or have that ‘no makeup makeup look.’

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

$8.99 @ ulta

So this is for my girls that like wearing very minimal makeup, but want an even skin tone. I love using this in the summertime when I don’t want to wear a lot of product on my face, but still want to look fresh. I also like wearing this on my really good skin days, because why layer on the product and try to fix something that isn’t broken? ya feel me?

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation

$29 @ ulta

Okay so this foundation looks similar to the Physician’s Formula Healthy Foundation and I would say has a similar finish, although this foundation provides you with more coverage. This foundation is a 2-in-1 and is meant to act as your concealer, as well as, your foundation, which would be nice for anyone who might be in a rush and need to cut down on the amount of products they put on, but I still would apply concealer when I wore this because I found that I needed to brighten up my face with a lighter shade. In a world where I had all the money, I would maybe purchase this in a lighter shade so I could really conceal with it.

Okay, now it is your turn. What are some of your favorite foundations? Have you tried the ones that I mentioned above? Do you love them or do you hate them? Give me the scoop.

See you on Wednesday!

Ooohhh I love the physicians formula healthy skin but if the clinique one has a little more coverage, I may just have to give that one a try!

It is so good!! Maybe trying out a fuller coverage concealer with it might help you get the coverage you want? Just a suggestion πŸ™‚ Thanks for reading!
