3 Skincare Must-Haves

Happy Sunday!! In today’s post, I just wanted to talk about 3 skincare products that I believe are a staple in any routine. I know that the beauty/skincare industry is overly saturated with so many different products and it can be very overwhelming when your trying to figure out what to get! Trust me, I’ve been there before and I’ve tried out so many products and I have found 3 that I continue to go back to because it keeps my skin happy.

Disclaimer: The products that I mention have worked for me time and time again, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they will be your saving grace. Take what I say with a grain of salt (and a shot of tequila if you’re feeling frisky).

The only three products that I am going to talk about that I believe are essential in any routine are: cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream. With that being said, I will throw in a toner here and there or maybe use a facial oil if I’m feeling adventurous, but I’ve noticed the BEST results when I use three simple products. Now, I also think that a makeup remover is an essential first step in skincare, but we are going to be talking as if our makeup is already off and we are about to wash our face.

Step 1: Cleanser

Now this cleanser has been something my dermatologist has recommended to me when I come to him with ANY issue that my skin might be having. I used to think that this man just wanted to push this product because he sells it in his office, but truthfully you guys this stuff is AMAZING. I am talking about the CeraVe Hydrating Face Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin.

I LOVE trying out different skincare products and I’m always hunting for the next best thing, but the saying is so true, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ because this stuff has never caused me any issues, but yet I still like to stray and try other things, which eventually causes my skin to get angry, which ultimately leads me back to this little gem.

Yes, there are even cheaper skincare products on the market, but maybe cut back on buying Starbucks throughout the week and give your skin some TLC instead. As I’m writing this, I just found out that they now offer this cleanser in a value size AND it is only a buck more!

Step 2: Moisturizer

If you do nothing else for your skin, or take nothing else from this post, please moisturize. Our skin takes a beating from the weather and the products we use and just from the air outside, so it is SO important to moisturize and help our skin regain some hydration. Again, I’m going to tell you about a product by CeraVe, not because I work for them or they sponsored this post (but CeraVe if you are reading this, sponsor me 😉 ), but because I truly believe in their products and have noticed amazing things happen to my skin when I consistently use them!

So I introduce to you the CeraVe PM Face Moisturizer

You might be asking yourself, “but what about a daytime moisturizer?” And my answer would be that they also carry an AM face moisturizer, BUT I notice that the PM one isn’t very thick, so it can definitely be used during the day and I in fact do use it during the day. Makeup layers beautifully on top and I don’t get to greasy throughout the day.

Now, if you are someone who needs a thicker, creamier moisturizer, don’t you worry, I got you. CeraVe also carries a moisturizing cream that will give you even more hydration. The only downside to the cream is that it is in a tub so you have to dig your hand in it to get the product, but they recently came out with one that includes a pump, so crisis averted, but you’ll just have to pay a little bit more for that added luxury.

Okay, so we have our face washed and our moisturizer on — now on to the eye cream!

Step 3: Eye Cream

I have only recently been using the eye cream that I am about to mention, BUT it was love at first swipe. Out of the three products in this post, this one is by far the most expensive out of the bunch, but you most certainly get what you pay for! I noticed results after the first day and I will definitely repurchase once I run out! The eye cream that has been stealing the bags from under my eyes is the TULA Multi-Spectrum Eye Renewal Serum

This stuff is SO good. Not only does the wand feel cool to the touch, which helps to de-puff your eyes, but it also is lightweight and lays beautifully underneath concealer. Once I use this, it feels like my eyes are more awake (if that even makes sense lol). If you are in the market for a new eye cream, or the eye cream that you are using isn’t giving you the results you want to see, then definitely try this baby out! You will not regret it!!

In addition to these 3 products, I highly highly recommend drinking lots and lots of water. I know people say that all the time, but I notice a difference in my skin when I make a conscious effort to drink more water throughout the day. I’m going to include a link to the water bottle that I have been OBSESSED with lately because first off, it is so cute and minimalistic AND it is glass so it makes water taste better and it is better for the environment 🙂

Have a wonderful Sunday and I will see you next week!!

lots of love
